Five Turkish soldiers have been killed and several others injured in an attack by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists in the country’s southeast.

On Saturday, a group of PKK militants stormed an army outpost near the town of Pervari in the southeastern province of Siirt, Turkish media reports as saying.

Nine Turkish soldiers were also injured in the attack, the report added. The outbreak of violence is the latest in a string of deadly attacks by the Kurdish militants, who have stepped up their terrorist activities since July.

Four people were killed in two separate clashes between Turkish security forces and PKK militants in southeast Turkey last week.
